Buying a Home in the Current Economy

Five years ago, lots of Americans bought houses. To qualify for a mortgage, basically all you needed was.... a pulse. Nowadays banks are a lot more careful about lending money for anything. However, if you are one of the lucky few that have some cash and decent credit left, you can get a home for a really great price.

If you're shopping for a new house in the Phoenix area, one place you can check out is Scottsdale Fine Properties. Not only do they sell houses in Arizona, they also have homes for sale in Mazatlan, Mexico. At the time of this writing, they have a house for sale in Mazatlan for only $79,900! You can be a homeowner in Mexico for the same price as Lindsay Lohan's bar tab!

If you want to apply for a mortgage loan, you should have good credit & as much cash saved up as possible for a down payment. This will help you qualify and get the best deal possible. Oh yeah... it also helps if you have a pulse! :>

Getting Around in Phoenix Arizona

If you plan on visiting or moving to the Phoenix area, I would highly recommend having a vehicle. The public transportation system really blows. You have your choice of either riding buses that take forever, or using the Phoenix Light Rail. With the Phoenix Light Rail you have only one choice of train to take that runs a grand total of 25 miles line that runs from a ghetto in Mesa Arizona, goes through downtown Phoenix, and then ends up at another ghetto in Glendale Arizona. Some of the people that ride the buses and the light rail here are really scary. I had to take public transportation for a few days a while back when my fuel pump stopped working in my car. At the bus stop I was approached by several weird looking homeless people with scraggly beards... and that was just the females!!!

If you're visiting you can always rent a car. However, if you want to really be a baller, rent yourself a motorcycle!!! Check out D&D Motorcycle Rentals located in Tempe Arizona. Prices range from $119 to $179 a day, and they have discounts if you rent for multiple days. Having a motorcycle is a great way to pick up chicks. Just don't pick up any at the bus stop.

2 Great Ways to Get Lots of People to Your Comedy Shows

If you do stand up comedy, you know that getting people to go to your shows can be challenging. You can of course promote your shows on Facebook. However, this is not always effective. For example, if you are a comedian, guess what? Most of your friends on Facebook are comedians too! They’re going to be too busy performing and promoting their own shows to go see you. You don’t want to pay a cover charge plus a two drink minimum to see the same seven minutes of comedy for the twentieth time do you? Well neither do your fellow comedians!

So what can you do to promote your shows effectively? These two methods will help you lots of new people to watch you. Here they are:

Surely there are other things you like to do besides perform! No? You need to expand your horizons and find other things to do. Seriously! I like to play sports like basketball, volleyball, and tennis. If you choose a group that plays sports or exercises, you'll get to meet new friends and get in great shape too! You can then tell your friends about your shows and then you have a new audience! The only downside is you may have to write new material, as you'll have an awesome new body and your fat jokes won't make sense any more.

2. Your place of employment

This is very effective if you are new at the job, and/or not many people at your work know you do comedy. If you've been at your job a while, it will start to get difficult to get people to see you perform. In that case, it's time to switch jobs! Do you have difficulty keeping a job? Do you "job hop" a lot? Use this to your advantage!!!

How to NOT Become Financially Independent

If you want to read good material on how to start your own business and become your own boss, there are plenty of good blogs that will teach you how to get started. Steve Pavlina, The Middle Finger Project, and The Art of Non-Conformity all have great articles and e-books that will give you great information on how to become financially independent.

All three of the authors of these blogs know what they are talking about. One's a published author, the other two travel the world while they run their online businesses.

I am not financially independent. So I am not an authority on blogging about becoming financially independent. However, I definitely am an authority on how to NOT become financially independent. I also know plenty of other people who work dead end jobs and who are clueless about running a successful business. So I am the perfect person to write this blog.

Although I am not as established as the three bloggers I mentioned earlier, I still believe in myself, and I believe I can contribute to your success. So if you want to quit your job and be your own boss, here's what NOT to do:

1. Spend a lot of time watching TV, going to bars, and doing other non-productive stuff.

You're at your job for 40 hours a week. Until you're able to quit your job permanently, your time is EXTREMELY limited. Cut back on the drinking a bit, and save some of your celebrating for when you actually accomplish something. Most of the people getting drunk and doing drugs are doing it to mask the pain of their awful jobs. Don't be like them.

2. Complain about your job and life situation A LOT!!!

Complaining actually strengthens the undesirable situation that you find yourself in. In almost all corporate jobs, you hear a LOT of complaining! When you hear people say stuff like "I never have enough money", or "I can't get a boyfriend/girlfriend", or "I hate my job", you can be assured they are going to stay in their unhappy situation for a long time. This is how the Law of Attraction works: you attract what you think about even if the situation totally sucks. If you don't like your job, or anything else in your life, stop your bitching, and make an exit plan. How would you feel if you were financially independent? Think of the positive feelings you would have, and use that to motivate you.

3. Spend a lot of money on your business before it becomes profitable.

This is just dumb dumb dumb!!! Spending too much money on advertising, products that you have never sold before, and anything else is a great way to kill your business before it even gets off the ground. However, even if your business fails by overspending, you could still do something positive. You can write a great article like "How to NOT have enough money to pay rent!"

How to NOT Play Chess

There are numerous "How To" books and blogs out there. Examples of these are how to make money from home, how to get rich, how to get a girlfriend, etc.

I am trying an experiment... I'm going to start writing "How to NOT" articles.

It is actually easier to write material on what NOT to do than to write what to do. For example, if you want to write an article on how to play chess, it takes years and years of practice and playing in tournaments before you are any good. Then you'd have to be at least an International Master for anyone to take you seriously.

If you want to write an article on how NOT to play chess... it's really easy. I'll write one right now. Here's my advice on how NOT to play chess.... it's usually not a good idea to move your f and g pawns forward too early. Here's a link to a game I played on against an opponent who learned this the hard way. Here is the game:

It was SUCH a tough battle but I managed to win.... barely.

Corporate Slavery vs Self Employment

Have you lost a job in this recession? Do you have a job, but your paycheck doesn't seem to go as far as it used to? Many of us are in this situation nowadays. If you watch the news on television, they seem to reinforce that the economy is in dire straits.

In reality, a lot of people are doing better than ever before. The vast majority of them are self employed. If you want to be rich nowadays, one of the best way to do this is to work for yourself.

Working a regular job is not an intelligent way to make money. Having a job means your income is limited to what the company chooses to pay you. It also means your income can get shut off at any time. Senior citizens often complain about having a fixed income. Lots of employees have fixed incomes too. I think 'fixed' is the wrong word.... it should be called 'broken'!

I have a regular job right now, but I am actively working on an exit plan. I do my stand up comedy for some extra money right now. I also make some extra money & residual income by writing blogs here and writing for other sites. My plan is to keep building these incomes and adding new streams of income until I can quit my job. Then I am writing a book and blogs that will help others escape corporate slavery.

What is your exit plan?

Facing Your Fears

Performing stand up comedy is fun. You get to entertain people and make people laugh with your own show. Plus for me it's a really easy way to "break the ice" and meet chicks.

So why do most people not take a chance to do comedy? The vast majority of us say something like "I could NEVER do that!"

Why is that? It is fear. It's the fear of looking ridiculous, bombing - etc.

Fear is all in your mind. You can react to it one of two ways... you can either let it paralyze you, or you can take action anyway.

Instead of visualizing yourself doing bad, try visualizing yourself having the audience laughing hysterically at every joke.

You can apply this same strategy to other areas of your life as well. For instance, if you are a guy afraid of talking to women, visualize yourself being an alpha male and having lots of women completing over you. When you actually do the approach, women will sense your positive energy and react positively to you as well.

Fear is only bad if you let it hold you back. If you take action despite fear, you will push your limits, and become a better person.

What's the Difference Jokes - Religion

I am known for my "What's the difference" jokes when I go on stage. So here are some of my jokes that have to do with religion. Here we go!!!

What's the difference between me and Mary Magdalene?

I still get paid for sex!

What's the difference between me and God?

More women scream my name in bed!

What's the difference between my bedroom and church?

One's a place I bang women every single night, the other one takes up 200 square feet in my apartment!

What's the difference between me and Jesus?

I'm still getting nailed!
